If you’ve appreciated our election coverage, we’d be grateful for your support

Wow. That was a hell of an election, wasn’t it? Democrats defied almost every expectation and historical precedent to rack up thunderous wins across the country, rebuking GOP extremism and safeguarding democracy. And every step of the way, Daily Kos Elections was there.

All cycle long, we relentlessly covered redistricting and exposed Republican gerrymandering. We churned out the highest quality data to help make sense of the new landscape, including our gold-standard presidential election results for every new congressional district—which you can see visualized in our unique “hex map” above. Every day, we tracked every key development in every key race in our one-of-a-kind newsletter, the Morning Digest, and every election night, we liveblogged the results until the wee hours.

We provide all this for free, but it isn’t free for us to provide. Daily Kos runs a very lean operation, but we still have to pay for servers, subscriptions, and, most importantly of all, the staff that creates all this content, day in and day out, without fail.

We won’t sugarcoat it: It’s a trying time in the media industry, especially for a small, independent organization like ours. There’s news of layoffs every day, and advertising revenues have shrunk across the board. That’s why we’re extremely blessed to be able to rely on reader support to keep us going.

We only make this appeal once a year, so if you’ve found value in our work, we’d be extremely grateful if you could make a donation this holiday season to support us. We are incredibly excited about what’s in store for 2023 and 2024, and we want to make sure we can continue to provide the same awesome data and analysis that’s been helping progressives win elections for almost two decades. Thank you so much for your loyal readership—none of this would have been possible without you. Happy holidays!
